A public children's park and basketball court are located between The Convent Guesthouse and harbour.  There is ample green space to play ball games, badminton, frisbee etc..

A private Business Office with computer, printer, tourist information and interactive guest comment board is available for your use.  An iron & board is also provided.

Cape St Mary's Ecological Reserve & Bird Sanctuary

"One of the world´s largest seabird colonies.  The site is home to an estimated 24,000 northern gannets, 20,000 black-legged kittiwakes, 20,000 common murres, and 2,000 thick-billed murres, as well as hundreds of razorbill & black guillemot breeding pairs.  Humpback whales may be viewed from the heights during the annual capelin run." 3.5 hr drive

East Coast Hiking Trails

 

The easternmost hiking trail in North America delivers hikers to a world of towering cliffs & headlands, sea stacks, deep fjords, and a natural wave-driven geyser, abandoned settlements, lighthouses, ecological reserves, seabird colonies, whales, icebergs, the world's southernmost caribou herd, a 50 mt suspension bridge and over 300 kilometres of pristine trails.  30 min drive.

Salmonier Nature Park
& Animal Rescue 

Salmonier Nature Park is a centre for environmental education, wildlife rehabilitation, research and environmental monitoring.  A visit to Salmonier Nature Park connects you to the stewardship of wilderness and wildlife.  1.5 hrs
